These discussions were held on the occasion of Ali Youssouf’s participation in the 58th Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Tangier from March 8 to April 3.
During the meeting, the two parties examined prospects for reinforcing cooperation between Morocco and the AU Commission, as well as means of enshrining this partnership, in line with Agenda 2063’s aspirations.
Mr. Bourita and Ali Youssouf also exchanged views on issues of peace and security in Africa, in addition to development initiatives and regional integration.
On this occasion, the Chairperson of the AU Commission praised the Kingdom’s contribution, under the Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, to the pan-African agenda of development, peace and security.
He further welcomed Morocco’s election to a third term on the Peace and Security Council last February.
