This position was expressed in Niamey by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Nigeriens Abroad Mr. Bakary Yaou Sangaré, following the 5th session of the Morocco-Niger Joint Cooperation Commission, co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita.

The joint Communiqué concluding the work of this Joint Commission commended the Royal Initiatives in support of African continent’s development, while reaffirming Niger’s support and commitment to the implementation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s International Initiative aimed at facilitating access to the Atlantic Ocean for Sahel countries.

It also praised the Atlantic African States Process (AASP), aimed at strengthening cooperation by making the African Atlantic and Sahel region a geostrategic framework for intra-African cooperation.

Both parties further welcomed the progress achieved in implementing the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline project, a symbol of South-South cooperation that will improve living conditions for local populations and promote regional integration.
